The American tennis legend, Serena Williams, is a huge fan of the popular rock band, Green Day. She has long expressed her appreciation for the band and has often talked about her admiration for the lead vocalist and guitarist of the band, Billie Joe Armstrong.
ecently, the 23 grand slam title winner, Serena, was spotted at a Green Day concert. She was there with her sister, Venus Williams, and some of her friends. The American tennis player also posted some videos from the concert on her social media.
Venus and Serena Williams attend Green Day’s concert
Serena had always wanted to go to a Green Day live event, and she finally got the opportunity to attend a concert when the popular band came to her home state, California. The American rock band recently performed at Hard Rock Hollywood.
The 23-time grand slam winner, Serena, also posted some videos from the concert, on her Instagram stories. She was spotted enjoying and grooving to the rock music at the concert.

The lead vocalist and guitarist of the band, Billie Joe Armstrong, once featured in the popular talk-show of Jimmy Kimmel. Meanwhile, he also revealed how Serena always asks him to play her favorite song.
Billie Joe Armstrong stated, “She would end up showing up and would always ask us to play this song ‘Disappearing Boy,’ which is a song we wrote years and years ago. She’s great, one of the sweetest people.”
Serena and Venus’s performance at the US Open
The legendary sisters, Serena and Venus Williams, teamed up for the doubles event of the US Open. It was an emotional event for the Williams sisters as it was their final doubles event as a team. They faced the Czech tennis pair, Linda Nosková and Lucie Hradecká, for their first round match of the tournament.
However, despite their solid performance, the Williams sisters were defeated 7-6, 6-4, by the Czech duo. The legendary tennis duo was overcome with emotion following their match as they received a standing ovation from the audience.
