The Southend hotel where Tyson Fury says is like staying at ‘Santa’s Grotto’

The famous boxer described the hotel as being one of the most Christmassy that he has ever visited

A hotel in Essex has received a glowing review from one of boxing’s all-time stars Tyson Fury. The popular, yet sometimes controversial, boxer recently stayed at the Roslin Beach Hotel in Southend and was left with plenty of praise.

Fury, 34, was staying at the beachfront hotel in the middle of his ‘The Fury Fest’ tour which has seen him meeting fans all over the UK. Following his stay in Essex, however, the Manchester-born heavyweight boxers revealed he loved his stay at the Roslin .

In a video shared on the hotel’s Facebook page, the two-time world heavyweight champion said: “I would say this is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Jackie [a member of staff] is absolutely fantastic and very welcoming. She has treated me like a family member.

“I’d definitely say it’s the most Christmas decorated hotel that I’ve every stayed in. It’s like Santa’s Grotto!”

A spokesperson for the hotel said: “This week we had the pleasure of welcoming a very special guest to our warm and wonderful hotel. Tyson Fury, it was lovely to have you and your family stay with us this festive season! Thank you for your kind and generous words about our hotel – we look forward to welcoming you again soon.”

The hotel is becoming a bit of a hot spot for celebs in the local area to pay a visit to. Denise van Outen is a regular to the hotel, whilst actor Will Mellor – star of Line of Duty and Strictly Come Dancing – and The Only Way is Essex’s James Argent have also dropped in before.

Some of the stunning rooms at the Roslin Beach Hotel look out directly onto Southend seafront. For a summer getaway in July, however, prices vary between £279 and more than £500 per night. They also offer dining and afternoon tea experiences, as well as being a luxury location for wedding celebrations.
