Canelo Alvarez backs Gervonta Davis to beat Ryan Garcia as he continues his feud
Mexican thinks his old training partner will get beaten
Canelo Alvarez has decided to back Gervonta Davis to beat his old training partner Ryan Garcia should they have a fight.
Garcia recently revealed that he would like to fight Davis having just knocked Javier Fortuna down three times during a sixth-round stoppage victory.
As of yet, no date has been announced nor is there any evidence of progress in negotiations, but Garcia’s old teammate and mentor, Canelo, has weighed in on how he thinks the fight would play out should it ever come to fruition.
“It’s a good fight for boxing,” the super-middleweight champion said.

“I think Tank has got more experience. That’s what I think, but in boxing you never know.”
Many are not sure how much to believe what Canelo says given he and Garcia have a known feud.
It all began after Garcia knocked out Luke Campbell in 2021 and then decided to take a break from the sport due to suffering with mental health issues.
This prompted Canelo to criticise Garcia for a lack of discipline and the young lightweight fighter hit back by predicting that Gennady Golovkin would beat the Mexican in their upcoming trilogy bout.
