The boxing legend made an interesting comment after Canelo’s win

Boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. was among those in Las Vegas on Saturday night to watch Canelo Alvarez‘s victory over former-undisputed 154-pound champion Jermell Charlo.

The Mexican’s triumph was widely applauded as Canelo was once again dominant, with the same hunger for victory as always.

His rivals take him very seriously and not dare to discuss his name too much but now everyone is looking towards one of the sensations of boxing today, Terence Crawford.

That’s line of thought Roy Jones Jr. seems to be taking, “I think he’s a little big for Crawford,” Jones Jr. said to Fight Hub. “I’m not sure about that because Crawford has punching power and he’s sharp, but I think Canelo showed that he’s pretty big.”

Jones Jr. advises Terence Crawford to wait to fight Canelo and to test himself first against Charlo, who still holds three of the four major titles in his weight class after suffering the second loss of his career.

“If he does well against Charlo at the weight, then let’s see him move up and fight Canelo, yes, but not now. I want to see Crawford move up the weight classes and prove he can be dominant at 154.”

Before all that comes Crawford will have to face Errol Spence Jr., which would trigger the clause for a rematch.
