Canelo Alvarez vs. Jaime Munguia fight results: Live boxing updates, scorecard, start time, undercard

It’s a Cinco de Mayo weekend celebration in Las Vegas on Saturday as Mexican icon Canelo Alvarez defends his undisputed super middleweight championship against unbeaten countryman Jaime Munguia.

Alvarez, 33, will look for the third defense of his undisputed reign as he looks to protect his status as one of the pound-for-pound boxers in the game. The 27-year-old Munguia, meanwhile, will aim for the defining victory of his 43-bout career in his second fight with Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach in his corner.

The PBC on Prime Video pay-per-view also represents the first time Alvarez has agreed to fight a fellow Mexican-born boxer since Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in 2017.

Also on the card is WBC interim welterweight champion Mario Barrios as he takes on Fabian Maidana. Plus, Brandon Figueroa looks to defend his WBC interim featherweight title against Jessie Magdaleno. Opening the PPV festivities is a secondary title fight in the welterweight division when champion Eimantas Stanionis takes on Gabriel Maestre.

R12: Alvarez hooks to the body. They trade stiff jabs.

ROUND 12: Last chance for Munguia and he comes out aggressive. Nice left hook inside. Big combos from the challenger.
