Claressa Shields is looking to add the WBC and WBO heavyweight titles to her mantle when she faces Vanessa Joanisse at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.

Shields (14-0, 2 KOs), 29, the current women’s undisputed middleweight champion, will return to the ring for the first time since defending the undisputed crown against Maricela Cornejo just over a year ago in the same arena. But she is moving up two weight classes to challenge Lepage-Joanisse.

Lepage-Joanisse (7-1-0, 2 KOs), 28, won the WBC women’s heavyweight title in March by edging Argentinian Abril Argentina Vidal by split decision, part of a four fight win streak. This will be her first title defence.

Shields defeated Savannah Marshall in the boxing ring October 2022 to become undisputed in women’s middleweight boxing. She joined the PFL in November 2020, is 2-1-0 in the PFL and recently attended her boxing rival’s PFL Europe debut.
