‘Tank’ was initially scheduled to defend his WBA lightweight title against Roach on December 14 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

However, the fight has now been pushed back three months to March 1 due to a scheduling conflict, while the venue has been changed to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Another commented: “Tank is looking insane.”

Videos have emerged of Davis posing for the cameras at a recent press event and fans were left stunned by the condition he is in already.  One supporter wrote: “Lamont Roach is in trouble. Gervonta Davis is in shape right now.”

Roach, the reigning WBA super featherweight champion, was granted ‘special permission’ by the major sanctioning body to move up and challenge for Davis’ title while also retaining his 130lbs strap.

Roach picked up the WBA super-featherweight strap by beating Hector Luis Garcia via split decision in November 2023 and defended it against Feargal McCrory in June.

Davis, who previously held the IBF and WBA super featherweight straps, was elevated from ‘regular’ to full WBA world champion in November 2023 when Devin Haney vacated the belt.

The Baltimore boxer defended the full world title for the first time in June with an eighth-round knockout win over Frank Martin.

Lomachenko’s manager Egis Klimas insisted that his client ‘wasn’t in the mood to fight Davis right now’ and wouldn’t be returning to the ring until 2025.

The development came amid reports that Lomachenko and Davis had reached an agreement.

The WBO will not recognize Errol Spence as a world title challenger against Sebastian Fundora.World Champion Has No Doubt He'll Knockout Terence Crawford Inside 9 Rounds When They Fight

WBO and WBC super welterweight champion Fundora is reportedly close to agreeing a deal to face Spence in early 2025.

However, newly appointed WBO president Gustavo Olivieri has told talkSPORT.com that only the WBC title will be on the line should that fight make it off the negotiation table.

If Fundora beats Spence then he will keep hold of his belt. But should he fall to defeat then WBO interim champion Terence Crawford will be elevated to full world champion without throwing a punch.Terence 'Bud' Crawford wins another weight class, beating Israil Madrimov by unanimous decision | Sports | norfolkneradio.com

Explaining the WBO’s stance on Monday, Olivieri told talkSPORT.com: “During the WBO convention at the ratings proceedings which I was presiding at after being elected, TGB Promotions through their council, Phile Weiss (lawyer) petitioned that Errol Spence be installed within the top ten at 154lbs.

“The purpose was to request that he be allowed to fight Fundora for the [WBO] title and he presented his case with strong arguments.

“But there are some factors that are undisputed: he’s been inactive for two years, he’s coming off a brutal TKO loss to Terence Crawford and he has never fought at 154lbs nor been rated at 154lbs.Top Trainer Robert Garcia Drops Bombshell On Terence Crawford's Next Move: "He Told Me Himself" - Seconds Out

those facts that are undisputed… You may say ‘Errol Spence is one of the biggest names at 154lbs, it’s a great fight against Fundora’.

“But based on those facts and the other fighters that are waiting their turn at 154lbs, having fought at 154lbs plus their level activity, their suitable opposition, having won regional titles, having faced rated contenders.  “If I allow Spence to fight Fundora immediately for the title with those facts…

“And we have done this in the past, Tim Tszyu wanted to fight Keith Thurman and we didn’t approve Thurman.

“And we’re not going to sanction that fight [Fundora vs Spence]. Fundora may fight Spence but it will be considered a WBO non-title fight…

“We’re going to allow him to proceed with that fight with the condition that if he loses, the title is vacated automatically and Crawford elevated to full champion status.”

Spence is ranked No.1 by the WBC at 154lbs so will be given the chance to fight for their version of the world title.Terence Crawford could be set for Errol Spence rematch at new weight after change to next fight | talkSPORT

If he wins, the belts will be divided between him and his old foe Crawford, who won the WBO interim strap by beating Israil Madrimov in August.

There was a rematch clause signed into their contracts, which Spence activated after the fight.

However, several factors, including Spence undergoing cataract surgery, led to their rematch deal expiring.  Spence is now preparing to return to the ring against unified champion Fundora, who won both his titles in a bloody war against Tim Tszyu in March.

The tales of Phil Mickelson’s gambling are infamous. While he did indulge in casinos and cards, his biggest addiction was sports betting. For those who aren’t aware, reports have suggested that Phil Mickelson bet around $1 billion throughout his career.Phil Mickelson (United States) Golf Profile - ESPN

While he may have already spent a lot, he admitted that he drew the line when it came to betting on the sport that gave him so much.

This response came to allegations of him betting $400,000 on Team USA to win the Ryder Cup 2012. Mickelson was a part of the team back then, and they lost to Europe; “I never bet on the Ryder Cup. While it is well known that I always enjoy a friendly wager on the course,  I would never undermine the integrity of the game.” But the tales of the LIV Golf maestro’s gambling adventures are not the only ones known to the golf world.Three time PGA tour winner says he joined LIV Golf 'mostly because' of Phil Mickelson

This time around, the person in question is John Daly. He also has enjoyed gambling, so much so that he once threw $55,000 off a bridge that he had won that night in a casino because his then-wife Sherrie was “annoying” him. Daly once joined the In Depth with Graham Basinger podcast, where he provided details of his gambling spree.

The golfer revealed that he had spent a whopping “55 million. 😳” from 1991 to 2007 in wagering. Bensinger asked Daly, “How was that even possible?” for him to spend this much? The pro golfer replied, “Stupidity,” as he went on to explain how he realized how much he had lost. Daly added, “We went through all my tax records to find out because I really didnt know.”U.S. Open 2024: Phil Mickelson's war against Father Time may finally be over | Golf News and Tour Information | GolfDigest.com

Daly added, “We went through all my tax records to find out because I really didnt know.”

In 2005, at the WGC-American Express Championship, Daly lost to Tiger Woods in a playoff and was devastated. He did win $750,000, and to ease the pain, he went to Las Vegas, with the check he had just won. He lost $600,000 in less than 30 minutes. He then got the credit from the casino and ended up losing $1.65 million in five hours of gambling over several games. After the shocking revelation and hearing John Daly’s explanation, Graham also wanted to learn more about why the 58-year-old liked gambling.Phil Mickelson gastó mil millones en apuestas en tres décadas - Teetime Klever

Why did John Daly like gambling?

Bensinger asked Daly what he liked about gambling. The 2x major winner immediately replied, “I loved the action. I loved the adrenaline, going in there.” Sharing a bit about how things have changed in gambling, Daly added, “When I was playing a lot of blackjack, you could play 7 hands at any amount you wanted,” as he stated that the number of hands has been reduced to 3 around the world. He continued to recollect his memories, “I’d go in, 7 hands at $5,000, $10,000, and $15,000 a hand back then.”

Graham then questioned whether the rumors of Daly liking the slot machines more were true. Long John stated, “I started playing slots knowing that if I took a lot less money in or did get a marker for it at the slots, you could last a little bit longer,” before sharing how the $5,000-a-coin machine was later introduced that rewarded $10,000 with 3 cherries. Three time PGA tour winner says he joined LIV Golf 'mostly because' of Phil Mickelson

He clarified that he only “played it 5 or 6 times. It’s not there anymore,” before admitting that he still sometimes gambled but at lower stakes; “Now if I gamble, I go in and play the $25 slots,” Daly said. “If I hit something I might move up to the hundreds.”

While it may seem wild to many, knowing the wild lifestyle John Daly lived, it shouldn’t come as a surprise. Charlie Woods: The Up-and-Coming Junior Golf Star

Legacy stories are usually a hit in the realm of sports, and the stakes are significantly greater when the name “Woods” appears. The attention is now on Jr. Woods, the next member of the Woods dynasty who has been turning heads with his impressive performances on the junior circuit, sparking rumors about him signing NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) deals has set the sports world abuzz.

Charlie started competing at the 2020 PNC Championship with his father. He has been compared to his renowned father because of his skill, poise, and remarkable resemblance to Tiger’s style of play. Despite still being a high school student.Who Is Charlie Woods? What We Know About Tiger Woods' Son

Charlie’s rising fame and connection to one of the most recognizable sports figures have drawn interest from big corporations. Charlie may prove to be an asset for companies looking to connect with the Woods legacy. From lifestyle companies to producers of golf equipment, the options appear to be unlimited.

Nevertheless, there hasn’t been any formal confirmation that Charlie has signed any NIL agreements as of yet. According to people close to the Woods family, Tiger, and his associates are eager to let Charlie concentrate on improving as a golfer before he enters the endorsement business. Charlie’s coach at school, Toby Harbeck, said in an interview: “He doesn’t need the fame. He has that. He is not in need of the money, for sure. What’s the benefit of Charlie receiving NIL money? Is there one? I don’t know.” Tiger has consistently emphasized the importance of performance over distractions, and it seems that Charlie’s budding career is following suit. Tiger Woods' Son Charlie Fails to Advance in PGA Pre-Qualifier

Charlie Woods: What’s Next?

Even while Charlie’s NIL partnerships’ brand affiliations and financial conditions are still under wraps, one thing is certain: the golf industry is prepared to welcome its next big thing. These agreements may be a starting point for even bigger achievements as he develops as an athlete and an emerging public figure.

The prodigy is the center of attention for now. Will Charlie Woods succeed his father and become the next biggest name in golf? Or will he leave a legacy that will never be forgotten? The Big Cat is back on the prowl, but golf fans should not feel overly giddy about his appearance at the PNC Championship.

That’s because Tiger Woods is still not feeling fully healthy, something he emphasized at the Hero World Challenge two weeks ago.

“I’m not tournament sharp yet. I’m still not there,” Woods said on December 3.

But before he does that, Woods will play in this week’s PNC Championship, the father-son event often referred to as the “fifth major” by the legends who participate. Despite that, the environment is much more relaxed, perfect for this time of year and perfect for a soon-to-be 49-year-old who labors to walk, let alone play. Carts are also available for players, which explains why Woods can play this week.

So Woods will take a back seat and rely on his son Charlie this week. The younger Woods has an impressive swing and routinely hits drives exceeding 300 yards. He even qualified for the U.S. Junior Amateur earlier this summer.Thankful Woods enters Hall of Fame: 'I didn't get here alone' | Reuters

But the goal for the elder Woods should be to get through this 36-hole stretch pain-free. If he shows no discomfort, golf fans will chalk that up as a win regardless of what the leaderboard says. Any signs to the contrary will leave an indelible mark on this tournament and signal that the end of his career is unfortunately near.
